What is AITP?
The Southern Miss Association of Information Technology
Professionals (AITP) is comprised of career minded students who seek to expand their
potential as future Information Technology professionals in industry,
government and academia. At Southern Miss, membership in the AITP
chapter is open to students in all IT related majors.
Purpose
The purpose of the AITP is to foster a better understanding of the
vital role that Information Technology plays in today's workplace.
AITP offers opportunities for IT leadership and education through
partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides
quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues
and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT
professionals.

Fall semester kick-off meeting
The kick-off meeting for the fall semester will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4th at 5:30 p.m. in Union Room G.
Our chapter president Jay Newton will introduce AITP to new members as well as outline our
goals for the semester. Our guest speaker will be iTech CIO Homer Coffman. There will also be food
so come and enjoy yourself getting to know AITP and please bring a friend.
